“Intercession o Messenger of Allah” inscribed and with the prayer wishing from Allah to keep Sultan Mahmud’s country cherished forever, also including Sultan Mahmud’s own calligraphy signature. Probably Sultan Mahmud’s own calligraphic panel pattern embroidered with gold thread on Kaaba textile.

Mahmud ll was the 30th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire (reign 1808-1839) also he was a talented calligrapher(hattat). His calligraphy qualified tutors were Mustafa Rakim Efendi for jal’I thuluth, Kececizade Mehmet Vasfi for thuluth and naskh.
