MARKED MAHMUD, PAHLAVI DYNASTY
The compressed circular form rising to an elegant waisted neck, surmounted by a C-scroll handle terminating in a finely cast mythical beast head; the body masterfully decorated in monabbat-kari technique with exquisitely chased vignettes depicting pastoral scenes of animals near tents alternating with suspended baskets, all amidst a ground of scrolling arabesques and foliate motifs; the neck embellished with complementary bands of vine and leaf decoration. The rim bearing the standard silver purity mark (۸۴) and partially legible workshop signature 'MAHMUD' in Latin script
