This manuscript was translated by Msnevihan Dervis Mahmud into Ottoman Turkish with the advice of Semi Efendi, also known as Aziz-i Uhrevi. He was asked by Sultan Murad III to return Konya and complete his translation work. Upon completing the translation, Dervis Mahmud returned to Istanbul and presented the translated work to Sultan Murad III who was deeply devoted to Mevlana.
