AN ANGLO-INDIAN BONE INLAID BASKET BOX, EASTERN INDIA, POSSIBLY VIZAKHAPATNAM, MURSIDABAD OR BERHAMPUR, 19THCENTURY, Of rectangular form, on four lion-paw feet, with an arched handle and hinged flaps opening to a sandalwood interior, sides profusely decorated with fretwork and with Lakshmi incised in a sitting position on the flaps, Some areas of the bone fretwork are missing.
