Two exceptional
photographs capturing the exquisite Iznik tiles adorning the famed Rustem Pasha Mosque; one photograph showcasing the interior, the other depicting the exterior tiles, bearing the stamp of Sébah & Joaillier, a renowned photography firm in Constantinople. Pascal Sébah (1823-1886), a pioneer photographer, established his studio "El Chark Société Photographic" in 1857. In 1888, he partnered with Polycarpe Joaillier (1848-1904). Sébah & Joaillier held the prestigious title of Sultan's official photographer, entrusted with capturing the vast expanse of the Ottoman Empire.
