AN OCTOGONAL LARGE INLAID MARBLE PLAQUE WITH VARIEGATED SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES, WITH FLOWERS, INDIA, Of octagonal form, a stunning example of Parchinkari, the centre piece featuring a vibrant floral design inlaid with a variety of semi-precious stones, including malachite and lapis lazuli, the floral motif set against white marble, plain reverse.
An 18th century Mughal architectural panel with similar colours can be seen at Brooklyn Museum ACCESSION NUMBER 86.189.4
