A magnificent translation of One Thousand and One Nights, bound in nine gorgeous bindings (Volume 10,11 and 12 missing), each one of them decorated with a different marbled paper on the covers, 144 illustrations in colours and gilt plates drawn by Léon Carré, 85 decorations and ornaments in colour by Racim Mohammed, some with tissue guards, spine ribbed decorated with gilt, the illustrated title of each tale is presented in French and in Arabic on the next page, only 2500 copies were printed, this set is number 1099 printed on “velin chiffon”

This is a significant translation of The Thousand and One Nights, which was explicitly mentioned in Marcel Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past.
