Ahmed Kamal, a pioneering Egyptologist, wasn't just a scholar; he actively shaped Egyptian archaeology. He learned from the renowned German scholar Heinrich Brugsch. Kamal served as a curator at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and held a position with the Supreme Council of Antiquities. He played a key role in organising the museum's vast collections, and his expertise proved invaluable during the museum's relocation – first from Boulaq to Giza, and finally to its current home in Cairo's Tahrir Square.
Also an explorer, Kamal participated in numerous excavations across the Nile Valley, including sites like Dayr al-Barsha and Amarna. One of his most significant discoveries was unearthing evidence of the pharaoh Khui, the only known record of this ruler.
